18.8mm joint size Connector

Standard connector made of glass with 18.8 mm cut. This downpipe fits all 14.5 mm plug heads / bowls and bongs with 18.8 mm cut.

The length of 18.8 mm connector is measured from the top edge of each cut to the lower end of the downpipe.

How do I measure the correct length?
