Coupleur 18.8mm to 14.5mm joint size

Glass connector for 18.8 mm bongs and 14.5 mm bowls. This downpipe fits all 14.5 mm plug heads / bowls and bongs with 18.8 mm cut.

The length of the 18,8 mm --> 14,5 mm connector is measured from the top edge of each cut to the lower end of the downpipe.

How do I measure the correct length?
