Anyone who uses coal chambers for smoke control knows the problem: the eternal awl with separate sieves, which first have to be somehow tinkered into the chamber. Heisenberg says "no" and provides his activated carbon adapter with a solid glass sieve at the bottom.

For greater certainty (in case the mixture gets even finer) the adapter also comes with a pack of normal metal sieves that can also provide additional sealing.
