Reducers are used to connect 2 hoses or tubings of different sizes.
Particularly if you want to connect an exhaust by a Y-piece with 2 hoses, reducing the diameter of the hoses for an optimal air movement. Without reducing the diameter, the air bspeed behind the Y-piece probably is too little.
They are also very useful for a secure and tight connection between e.g. a fan with a diameter of 125mm and a hose with a diameter of 100mm.
Slip the hoses over the long flanges and secure them with a hose clip.
