Dabbing with a Bong: Oil Bowls, Domes & Nails Made Simple

If you'd rather not smoke solids in your bong and instead want to work with liquids or oils, a conventional setup won't get you very far. But don't despair: with a few extra parts you can easily upgrade your bong... or, of course, just get yourself a bong that's made for oil dabbing right away.

Try pouring liquids into a normal bong bowl and you'll probably get a very sad look in return... after all, Newton did invent this thing called gravity. So you need a special bowl, often in the shape of a whole dome, designed to run with liquids:

Nails for oil and essences

Since you don't ignite oils directly, an alternative to the special bowl is a nail that acts as a heat conductor. In most cases it simply plugs on. Nails also stick to the usual joint sizes and can easily be adapted to other joint sizes with a matching adapter.
