Exhaust Fan Sets

The control of supply and exhaust air as well as odour neutralisation are key Elements of any successful indoor grow. Here you will find coordinated ventilation sets. The exhaust air system in grow tents or greenhouses serves two different problem areas. Firstly, many plant cultures generate odour and CO2 pollution, which can be kept tolerable with the help of continuous ventilation. Secondly, an exhaust air system also removes the polluting warm air, which is primarily generated by the lighting. Otherwise, such climatic conditions can easily lead to problems, especially for plants that can only tolerate specific temperature ranges

Setting up an exhaust air system

Setting up the exhaust air system is actually very simple, especially in grow tents. Appropriate mounting devices are already available and the hose can be conveniently discharged through the opening provided. Care must be taken when selecting the components to ensure that they fit together. On the one hand, this concerns the performance of the fan / activated charcoal filter.

As a rule, the filter is always selected slightly larger than the fan, as the exhaust air performance is reduced by the length of the hose. In breeding tents with short ventilation paths, this is not so important. A filter with a capacity of approx. 50m³ more than the fan is usually sufficient. In greenhouses, depending on the type of construction, it may be necessary to extend or create ventilation openings. If you want to be on the safe side, you can opt for an exhaust air set.

Components of a ventilation set

Pre-assembled exhaust air kits are adapted to many installation situations. As a rule, the following individual components are required for a functioning exhaust air system:
  • a fan (with suitable hose connection)
  • an activated charcoal filter (AKF) with compatible connection
  • hoses
  • Hose clamp or adhesive tape for assembly
