Indoor Grow Reflectors
A grow reflector guarantees the ideal light yield. Reflectors for indoor grow lighting are available in a wide variety of designs. The main purpose is to reflect the light coming from the light source. Grow reflectors - purpose and function
Reflectors are an important factor in plant lighting. As plant lamps emit their light all around, but you usually mount your light sources above the grow area, you would waste far too much light that escapes upwards unused if you did not use a reflector that directs the light in the direction in which the plants are located.
These reflectors are not simple mirrors, but ensure that the reflected light is properly diffused. It is therefore directed in the desired direction, but scattered in such a way that it is not concentrated on one point, but ensures an even glow. The concentration on certain areas is called 'hot spots'. If there are plant parts in this spot, they can be damaged and suffer burns. Just imagine focussed light with the help of a magnifying glass or a burning mirror.
The hammer blow reflector is a very common and good example. Due to its surface (which has a hammered appearance), it focusses the reflected light quite specifically in one direction, but scatters it enough to avoid 'hot spots'.
