Already in ancient Egypt, blue glass or violet glass was known as a material for pharmacy glasses and jars, as it protects dried herbs much better from harmful sunlight than transparent glass or amber glass. This wide-neck can is ideal for dried plant material. It remains visibly fresher and retains its aroma better than in other containers. The manufacturer Miron has revised the process for the production of violet glass several times since the 1990s and has meanwhile established its glass containers as standard for more and more pharmaceutical quality products and herbal mixtures.
