Coco nutrients

Items 1 - 8 of 8

Coco fertilisers are fertilisers that are specially adapted to the cultivation of plants on coconut fibre substrate, often simply called "coco". Coco substrate is not pre-fertilised and has a special water/air ratio, which makes it possible, but also necessary, to precisely control the amount of fertiliser. Depending on the hardness of the Irrigation water, Coco fertiliser is required for calcareous, hard water or soft water. Coco substrate should be watered several times a day, drained to about 20% and fertilised.
As with pure hydroponics, special attention must be paid to the EC and pH values when growing on Coco, as the sterile medium has no buffering effect and the nutrient solution is only absorbed by the roots if its composition is perfectly balanced. After some time, the entire nutrient medium should therefore also be rinsed with plenty of fresh water so that the minerals enriched in the Coco medium do not lead to salinisation.
