The mini greenhouse - preliminary considerations

If you want to grow cuttings in your home - on a windowsill or in a grow box - you usually need a suitable greenhouse or mini greenhouse. The choice of a suitable variant or size of greenhouse depends on several factors that need to be clarified in advance. The following is a short list of some (not all) common factors to help you choose the right greenhouse.
  • Should the greenhouse only be used seasonally or should it be in operation all year round? In the latter case, the mini-greenhouse should be one size larger.
  • This is of course limited by the space available. Will the greenhouse even fit into the designated corner or grow box?
  • The growth rate of the cuttings and the expected plant size also play a role. The greenhouse should provide enough space until the end of the cutting phase.
  • Will the mini-greenhouse be used for other purposes besides growing, such as overwintering plants? Even then you should add a little more space.

Indoor greenhouse is simply an alternative term for small or very small greenhouses, which are essentially designed for growing young plants that are then transplanted for further cultivation in the ground, in flower boxes or in pots.
